Review of the Jam Session, 18th May
This one started with a quote from Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and then some lively saxophonigeetar work from Messrs Garrett and Powell, interesting bebop from Tom (sax), then settled to a not unusual assortment of toons, tones and tonsils, a great little trio session (piano/bass/drums) for Miss Rose, (the Good Captain's pick of the day), saw the arrival of Mr Ress at just the right time to take over, settled down with Christine's sultry tones, bluesed it up with a rare visit from Brigid DeNeefe, and wandered out into a wintry evening once we had cleared up the mess of cables, boxes, drums, keys and stands that is the MJJ substitute for an organised arvo, well satisfied with the single sentence, and deployed oxford comma (it is just before "and wandered" if you were wondering).
