Should Have Been Quieter

Jam Session Review: The Cornerstone Bash, August 4th

What with Inverloch going off to the East, and the Castlemaine Jam Session to the North, it is hardly surprising we started with an empty pub (although, to be fair, it wasn't entirely empty, we were in it.)

A quieter session ensued, but in the wash-up, the 18 musos who attended had a pretty good time of it. Highlights I hear you ask? Well.. perhaps the return of Anthony, who we haven't seen since Middle Park Bowls Club days, Paul (sax) and Ruth (tonsils) dropping by, the bass amp behaving itself (the Captain got it checked out, and apparently none of the bass players knew their gain from their elbow so it was either dropping out or booming the week before), Ashley singing and harmonickering to good effect, although we did manage to cock up The Nearness of You due to a surfeit of bars and some confusion over the tempo (all three of them were right on occasion - mea culpa) Kay dancing on the table (I made that bit up), and the Good Captain back from a brief sojourn to Inverloch with the Port Phillip Show Band, and somewhat subdued after a late night.

What if light travels in circles  and the earth really is flat? Discuss. This week, we may also be covering Nietzschian philosophical concepts on the role of women in society, the influence of Dadaism on postmodern kitchens and the price of beer.
