Jammers take to playing Jazz

Jam Session Review of 20th July 2025

In a remarkable break with usual practice, this  session really cooked from beginning to end. Apologies will be accepted...

26 Jammers fronted, a range of experience and enthusiasm; as well as a pleasing number of locals who stayed and listened. Of the performances that stood out, Estate - one of Roger Clark's favourite toons, with Larry Kean on drums, Philip on keys and Ivan on bass, a welcome return from Anthony on a mini bass (last seen at, I think, the Middle Park venue), and a nervous newcomer(ish) Michelle who gave one of the livelier performances on the tonsils. Brigid De Neefe absolutely blew the proverbials of a coupla toons - great to see her back. And Ash (guitar) played some neat solos... meanwhile, back at the ranch, the usual regulars - The Good Captain, Neville, Martin Clifton, Jane, Christine, Annie, and the rest were all exceptional.

Not surprisingly, we ran a late finish and the remaining crew faded into the dark, braced for another week in the salt mines, or whatever they do to keep Sundays apart. Quite whether we can sustain this class is debatable - enjoy it while it lasts...
