A balanced sound...​


A review of the 30th March Jam Session

A sound system that sounds good? Who would have thought that was worth a try - arrived at the Big C to find the usual crew waiting for someone else to start - which we did - and the sound system layout that everyone thought was pretty good last week, was even better - clear vocals (Rose who is quite quiet, sounded even better than usual, as did Chrissie, who is quite not so quiet), instruments balanced with each other, a good arvo in prospect.

Jack the lone barman wanted to knock off by 6.30, and the Good Captain, as a consequence shortened each set to two songs - not a murmur of dissent for which all 23 of us are grateful. Everyone got to play before a fine session drew to a close at 6.30pm.


Trainwreck of the week? A hotly contested award, but not given out lightly, and this week not given out at all. Cardinal Calamatta had a go, with his mate Paolo on bass having to make up the four bars missing from the chart  that JC wasn't reading anyway.

No food available, and shortened hours. The Cornerstone staggers from one week to the next - it is a concern, but the JamSessionThinkTank is already bubbling away.
