Newport Jazz - May 1st and 2nd, 2021
We are just eight weeks out from the Festival, and the team is fielding a lot of queries from potential Festival goers - how did we pick the bands? Easy - we focussed on the best jazz bands around, (Ade Ish, Deborah LaVelle, got a good mix of modern jazz (Visionary Steel), mainstream (anything with Ron Anderson in it) and trad bands such as Shirazz - something for everyone; then picked out some local Newport bands (such as Newport Gypsy Djangos), favoured younger bands (Limelight), featured singers, and picked Melba on its merits which then turned out to be an all women band - and filled out the programme with same big bands...
How do you get a ticket? We have changed the ticketing process so that you can register now for a ticket, and pay for it later - either online or at the Festival box office, which will be in the Newport Bowls Club, 4 Market Street, on the day. Tickets are extremely limited and we are encouraging you to register as soon as possible. Ticket queries have suddenly ramped up, as word gets around.
Live music is back!
